Having problems logging-in to Rallycodriver Magazine?
Here are some step-by-step tips in a check-list format to help you get started.
1

Have you registered and activated your Rallycodriver Magazine account?

These are the very first things you must do to gain access to Rallycodriver Magazine. Since there is no free-to-view rallying content, creation and activation of an account is essential.

  • at the top of this page click on 'Register / New Account' to create your account
  • complete your personal details and follow the on-screen instructions
  • you will receive the following 3 emails automatically within a few seconds of registering your contact information:
    • email (1): account registration confirmation
    • email (2): account username & password confirmation
    • email (3): account activation invitation

Keep the first two (your account registration email and account username & password email) in a safe place; you may need these for future reference.

Read your account activation invitation and follow the instructions; these are critically important if you wish to subscribe to Rallycodriver Magazine.

If you do not receive the account activation invitation email this is an indication that you have registered an invalid email address. You can go no further in the subscription process. If this is the case, just start again - create a new account and double-check that you type a valid email address! On a regular basis, the system will automatically delete any invalid accounts.

2

Have you purchased any Rallycodriver Magazine subscriptions?

Without completeing the online purchase of one or more Rallycodriver Magazine subscriptions you will be unable to access any rallying content.

  • click 'My Account' at the top of this page and login to your account
  • click on the products link at the top of the page
  • choose your subscription options
  • follow the on-screen instructions to complete your order

When you have successfully purchased your subscription(s) you will automatically receive the following 2 emails:

  • email (1): order confirmation
  • email (2): credit / debit card payment confirmation

Your subscription(s) are activated automatically when you have received your payment confirmation from the banking system.

If you cancel the payment process your order remains in a pending payment status. No payment confirmation email is sent, no access is granted, and you should start a new order.

3

Check your order confirmation email, which lists the subscriptions purchased:

  • are you trying to login to a subscription which you have not purchased?
  • if you have purchased a 'Main' subscription only, your login attempts will fail when accessing Special Features, Photography or Archives - you can easily purchase any extra subscriptions at any time
  • if you're not sure which subscription you're trying to login to, read the login box carefully and you will see the name of the subscription printed above the username and password fields
4

Still having login problems?

  • dig out your username & password confirmation email which was delivered to you in step 1
  • your username & password are case sensitive so you must type them exactly as registered - for example - password is not the same as Password. fred is not the same as Fred
  • if you have lost your username and password details, click the 'Password Reminder' link at the top of this page and follow the on-screen instructions. Your login details are sent to the email address registered in your account
5

Follow the quick tip list below:

When asked to enter your username and password for access to a subscription area:

  • left-mouse-click in the username box
  • type your case-sensitive username
  • press the tab key to move to the password box
  • type your case-sensitive password
  • left-mouse-click the login button

If the above doesn't work, do the following (the difference is highlighted in red)

  • left-mouse-click in the username box
  • type your case-sensitive username
  • left-mouse-click the password box
  • type your case-sensitive password
  • left-mouse-click the login button

Have you successfully logged-in? Content will start to load if you have.

6

The next steps assume that you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6 (IE) or above. Unfortunately we are unable to comment on other versions of browser software. We can only recommend that whichever brand of software you use, you always keep it up to date, and use the latest version with all appropriate patches and upgrades.

Recommended IE security settings:

Start Internet Explorer and click on Tools > Internet Options then click the Security tab. Click the Internet icon and check that the 'Security level for this zone' is set to Medium. Set it to Medium if it isn't already.

Recommended IE privacy settings:

Now click the Privacy tab and check that the slider is set to Medium. Move the slider to Medium if it isn't already.

Clear cookies:

Now click the General tab and in the Temporary Internet files section click the Delete Cookies button. A question pops up "Delete all cookies in the Temporary Internet Files Folder?" - click OK.

You are now back in the Internet Options window in the General tab. Click OK.

Close IE, start IE again, connect to Rallycodriver Magazine and try logging-in to your subscription.

7

Do you have any Internet Firewall security software running on your PC?

This software is different from Anti-Virus protection and is special software to stop people on the internet from accessing files on your PC. Popular software includes something called "ZoneAlarm" and another is "Symantec Norton Firewall". If you have either of these products installed or some other similar software you need to check the configuration and ensure that cookies are allowed.

Also check your Firewall log to see if Rallycodriver Magazine is being blocked. We haven't seen such activity before but it is worth checking that your firewall isn't blocking internet logins. If you don't use any such firewall software, just ignore this paragraph.

Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) may also be running firewall software for you. If this is the case, are you able to check with your ISP your firewall log to see if your internet login is being blocked? We have not seen any situations where this is happening, but it is possible and should be checked if you are still having login problems.

If asked by your ISP, we use industry-standard Unix-based login authentication on an Apache web server during the login process so, in theory, any flavour of internet browsing device should be able to login. No proprietary software or non-standard protocols are used during the login process.

8

Start IE again and go to www.rallycodrivermagazine.co.uk/subscriptions and click on Login / Register at the top of the screen.

When the login screen loads try logging into your account with your username and password. If any of the above has fixed the problem you should see your registered account details on-screen.

9

If step 8 above works OK, then do the following...

Click the logout link near the top of your account page. Then go to www.rallycodrivermagazine.co.uk and click on any of the latest updates. Type in your username and password in the login window and, fingers crossed, you should be logged in.

10

If you are still having problems after following through all 9 steps above then please contact enquiries@rallycodrivermagazine.co.uk with more details about the login problems you are experiencing.

Details required are as follows:

  • Are you using a PC or Mac?
  • Which operating system do you use (example: Windows XP)?
  • Which ISP do you connect to the internet with? If through a business network please state 'business network' and confirm that the business security policy permits you to access web sites such as Rallycodriver Magazine. Business network security policies sometimes filter and block access to non-business-related web content.
  • Which internet browser software do you use (including version number)?
  • Have you visited your browser supplier web site and installed all upgrades, patches and security fixes?
  • Have you completed all the above fault finding steps 1 to 9?
  • What is your Rallycodriver Magazine account registered email address?
  • What error messages or system behaviour do you see on-screen when you try to login. Please note exact error messages if displayed.

If we are unable to resolve your login problems after you have followed all the advice above and provided us with as much information as possible, we will obviously provide you with a full refund of your subscription fees. Currently about 1 in 300 subscribers have a peculiar system configuration that denies them access to Rallycodriver Magazine due to security or system settings out of our control. However, we will always do our very best to help you.
