Breathing fire....
Acceptance speech from Claire Mole,
Winner of the 'Putting the Fear of God into the Driver' award
The news of my award arrived
from Sweden.
So, everyone thinks I breathe
fire! Well, I've got a reputation to live up to then.
Will be fully fired up
for the Pirelli Rally! See you then.

I'd just like to thank...........
Acceptance speech from Richard Pashley,
Winner of the 'Golden Poti' award
Thank you, Neil.
Well, what CAN I say?
I am chuffed to death! I never thought it would have been possible,
even in my wildest dreams.
I'd just like to say thank you to everybody who voted for me, to my fiancée
Becky for putting up with me and all the time I spend away from her,
my father Steve who gave me the 'Rally bug' and first told me how to
navigate, my mom Pat for retrieving my drunken father off the pavement
outside a Sheffield pub 31 years ago (not the most romantic of first
encounters), all the Drivers I've ever had (and there's been a few),
good ones and bad, for the experience that I've been able to accumulate
over the years and last, but by no means least, to the late great John
Handley who had the utmost trust and faith in me and my ability and wanted
me to go to the top!
Thank you, I love you all very much!
Pash

PS. Do I actually
get a golden Potti? If not, just a standard Don Barrow? (without a rheostat!)

Such a thrill...
Memo from Martin Brady, nominee for

Thanks for running such
a great scheme as the Top Co-driver Awards. It was such a thrill

Sorry - I was washing my
Pixie Boots........
Interview with Gordon Noble, nominee
for the 'Cleanest Pixie Boots' award
Sorry I could not be at the bash, I was washing
my pixie boots along with my hair..
Firstly, thank you very much to the 109 people who nominated me.. I assume
some of them know me and some don't and I don't know if I can afford
to buy you all a drink. Just remind me when you see me at the bar.
To be nominated for a special award has just overwhelmed me. I congratulate
Jonty on his squeaky clean performance during the years which have earned
him the coveted title.
I would like to point out to those who don't know, that I normally try
to be at the control along with the rally car and not have to run back
(or forward) to the control. It has been reported that I have attempted
the clocking-in procedure while the car was still outside the control
zone (maybe a mile outside it).
I feel a little smile coming on here, and I for one did not vote for
Pash, so where did he drum up the 500 mates?
Good luck to everyone for the coming year. Just finish behind me!
Gordy

Kinky Boots
Letter to Richard Umourmönger from
Jonty Bolsover, winner of the 'Cleanest Pixie Boots' award
Richard, my
old fruitcake,
Thanks for
the wonderful award.
Sorry I couldn't
be there but I'm on a fashion shoot with Chesterfields the must-have
magazine for the coffee table 'Ayeup Duck'! Doing an article on
my Pixies, you see, and couldn't afford to turn down the royalties on
offer (season ticket at Saltergate, home of Chesterfield FC, and a night
out with top Chezzie bird Jo Guest!).
Have donated
my latest Pixies to sports bar in town, 'The Pigeon Wharfe' (someone
murdered the Canary!) and they are hanging above the bar next to the
dart board and the fluorescent light bulbs!
Nice to see
my mate from Sheff' just up't road, Pash, win overall and I know he's
had lots of support from his Dad and a Hong Kong telephone directory
(word gets around really quickly, you know!).
Love you lots
and promise to send my next set of Armani-designed Pixies to you!
Off to Milan
in the morning, bye for now....

Does Richard Pashley really have 511
friends?
On reading
that Richard Pashley has won the Golden Poti Award for the Top Co-driver
of 2002:
Does
Richard Pashley really have 511 friends because I don't think he has?
I really think
a re-draw is called for as I myself witnessed his Dad sending in votes
one evening whilst reading a Hong Kong telephone directory looking for
suitable names and addresses!! I also overheard Richard himself
saying that he would buy his 2, and only real, mates 511 pints of beer
if he did win (strange, then, that he managed to get 511 votes!).
Not that I'm
bitter and twisted or anything, and I'm not a bad loser, but 511 divided
by two is 255.5 and I'm bloody thirsty!
A disgruntled co-driver who very nearly won - but didn't!
